Who we are

InTuition is a study-coaching service for CEGEP students, based in Quebec and founded by Eric Miao.

Person in charge of personal information

Eric Miao is responsible for protecting the personal information InTuition holds. You can reach him at info@intuitiontutoring.ca.

What we collect

• Intro-call form: your first and last name, email address, phone number, CEGEP and program.
• If you enrol: what you choose to share in classes and one-on-ones, the name and email you use on Zoom, your Discord username and what you post there, your weekly tasks, the predicted and real grades you post, your answers to a short questionnaire and a study log, the personal goal you write, and a record of your payment.
• If you ask us to send updates to a parent: their name and email address.

Why we collect it

• To contact you and schedule your intro call.
• To deliver the coaching and track your progress: classes, one-on-ones, tasks and weekly check-ins.
• To send updates to a parent, only if you ask us to.

We don't use your information for anything else without asking you first.

Your consent

You give your consent by checking the box on the intro-call form. You can withdraw it at any time by writing to info@intuitiontutoring.ca. If you do, we stop using your information and delete it, except anything the law requires us to keep.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent your personal information. We only share it with the services we need to run InTuition:

• an email form service that delivers the intro-call form to us (or your own email app, if the form opens it)
• Zoom, for intro calls, classes and one-on-ones
• Discord, for the participants' community. Messages there can be seen by the other participants in your group and by the coaches, so share only what you're comfortable with
• our email provider, to write to you
• the company that hosts this website, and Google Fonts, which supplies the site's fonts. Both can see technical data such as your IP address when a page loads.

Some of these providers may store information outside Quebec. We use them only for the purposes described here.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not use cookies or tracking tools. There are no analytics or advertising pixels.

How long we keep it

• If you don't enrol, we delete your intro-call information within 12 months.
• If you enrol, we keep your information until the end of the program, plus a reasonable period for our records, then delete it.
• Records the law requires us to keep, such as payment records, are kept for as long as the law requires.

How we protect it

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Within InTuition, only the people who need it to run the program have access: the co-founders and the coaches who work with you.

Students under 14

Most CEGEP students are 14 or older and can consent on their own. If you are under 14, a parent or guardian must give consent for you.

Your rights

You can ask to:

• see the personal information we hold about you
• correct it if it's wrong
• withdraw your consent
• have it deleted

Write to info@intuitiontutoring.ca. We'll reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca).

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page. If a change affects information you've already given us, we'll let you know by email.
